Doom now runs on earbuds — and you can play it via a browser queue

Doom has been ported to a pair of PineBuds Pro earbuds by developer Arin Sarkisian, because the internet can’t stop itself.

The twist: the earbuds don’t even have a screen. The “play experience” is streamed, and players can join a queue to control the game remotely from a browser while watching the output elsewhere. It’s more engineering flex than practical gaming—but that’s the point.

Doom ports are a long-running meme, yet they still matter: they’re playful demonstrations of embedded computing, optimization, and how far “can it run Doom?” can be pushed in 2026.
