Multiple reports say Intrepid Studios is effectively shutting down after co-founder and creative director Steven Sharif resigned on Jan 31.

Several executives and communication staff reportedly left as well, and WARN Act notices signaled mass layoffs across most of the roughly 250-person team.

With leadership gone and staff reductions underway, the future of the crowdfunded MMO Ashes of Creation is now unclear.
