Nintendo confirmed for Gamescom 2026

Nintendo is officially heading to Gamescom 2026. The company has not yet detailed its booth plans, playable demos or tournament activity, but its attendance has now been confirmed for the Cologne event running from August 26 to August 30. That matters because Gamescom has become even more important in the post-E3 era, especially for players in Europe who want hands-on access to upcoming games. Nintendo skipped Gamescom for several years, returned in 2023, skipped 2024, came back in 2025, and is now attending for a second consecutive year. With Switch 2 already well into its first major year, the timing is interesting. Nintendo could use the show to put Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Star Fox, Splatoon Raiders, third-party Switch 2 titles or late-2026 projects in front of a large public audience. Gamescom is also likely to feature other major companies, including Sega and Capcom. For European players, this may be the best chance of the year to try Nintendo’s coming lineup without waiting for local demo events.
