Resident Evil Requiem gets free Leon Must Die Forever update
Capcom has surprised Resident Evil Requiem players with a free update called Leon Must Die Forever. The new minigame mode is unlocked after completing the main story and challenges players to clear stages against the clock while using randomized enhancer abilities. Insider Gaming describes it as a fast, roguelite-style twist on the Requiem formula, with damage numbers, color-coded enemies and a much more arcade-like rhythm than the main campaign. For players waiting on larger story DLC, this is a smart stopgap. It gives completionists a reason to return, lets Capcom test a more replayable structure, and keeps Resident Evil Requiem in the conversation without asking for more money. The mode also fits Resident Evil’s long history of bonus content, from Mercenaries-style action modes to unlockable challenge runs. The important thing is that it is free for owners, which should soften any criticism that Capcom is slicing side content into paid DLC too aggressively. If Leon Must Die Forever feels good, players may start asking for a larger, more fully developed version of the concept.
