Yoshi and the Mysterious Book overthrows Pokémon Pokopia on the Switch 2 eShop chart

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book has taken the number one spot on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop chart before launch, knocking Pokémon Pokopia down to second place. That is a strong sign for Nintendo’s next first-party release, because the game does not arrive until next week and is already leading through pre-loads. The rest of the chart also tells an interesting story about Switch 2’s current software mix. Mario Kart World sits at number three, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has cracked the top five, and Outbound has entered the top ten. The download-only chart is different again, with Mixtape at number one, followed by Subnautica – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Sektori. For players, this shows that Switch 2’s eShop is not only being driven by Nintendo’s obvious heavyweights. Third-party ports, indie releases and Game Pass-style narrative titles are also finding visibility. Still, Yoshi taking first before release shows Nintendo’s own brands remain the system’s biggest force.
